You Need This Beer: Narragansett's 'Jaws,' 1975 Can
Take a bite out of this: just in time for "Shark Week" and everyone's most favorite time of year, craft brewer Narragansett is re-releasing the same beer can featured in the 1975 shark thriller, Jaws.
It's the same retro can seen in the movie, the Associated Press reports; now, New Englanders can pick up a 12, 18, or 30-pack of its Narragansett lager in the same design. According to the AP: "In the 1975 film, Capt. Sam Quint, the shark hunter played by the late Robert Shaw, crushes a can of 'Gansett with one hand to intimidate the oceanographer played by Richard Dreyfuss." (We're still too scared to watch the film ourselves, so we'll believe what the AP says.)
So we beg you, start crushing those cans of Narragansett immediately — but save one for the design, of course. There's also the Narragansett can re-released with the same can design from 1953, if you're so inclined. Let's be real — canned craft beer has been around for longer than some of us have been alive.
