World Series Boozing: Where To Drink And Watch In San Francisco
Giants fans and San Francisco residents, we know how pumped you are about your Giants sweeping the first two games of the World Series. And we know you're going to need a place to camp out to watch the next three games against the Detroit Tigers. Fortunately, your neighborhood bars are taking care of that with Giants-themed cocktails, happy hours, and plenty of flat-screens to keep you satisfied.
If you're not going to watch the game at Pete's Tavern (on our list of America's Best Sports Bars), these are the places you should definitely hit up for all of your World Series madness:
Brasserie S&P, Mandarin Oriental
Throughout the World Series, the S&P Brasserie (located in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel) will be shaking up a special cocktail in honor of the Giants. The gin and tonic refresher ($16) is made with Rusty Blade Gin, Sensei saffron tonic water, a lemon twist, and a burnt orange peel. No, there aren't any TVs to watch the game on — but you'll feel uber classy as you cheer your home team on.
EPIC Roasthouse
In honor of the World Series, the steak house will be offering two specials for Giants fans. First, they will be offering $2 Anchor Steam (a San Francisco institution) and its lineup of beers every game day all day long. For those looking for a cocktail, there is the "Out of the Park" which features Bulleit rye, St. Germain, Pear Likor, lemon, and a dash of peach bitters. The cocktail is topped with PBR beer and served in a Pilsner glass with a lemon wheel garnish, offering a nice mix of high and low. The cocktail is priced $10. And, if you can't possibly wait any longer after dinner to check in on the game, EPIC's upstairs bar, Quiver, does have TVs to watch the game.
Oola Restaurant and Bar
We can appreciate a good farm-to-table restaurant getting in on the Giants fanfare. Enjoy a special Giant's menu featuring a "Go Giants" cocktail, offered at the bar and lounge throughout the series. Wear Giants apparel and receive a VIP treat from the bar.
Players Sports Grill & Arcade
If you're needing a traditional sports bar vibe to cheer on the Giants, Players is your best bet. With more than 35 HDTVs and more than 200 sports channels, Players Sports Grill & Arcade has room for dozens of Giants fans to congregate. Grab one of their 15 beers on tap, Players hot wings and potato skins, and settle in.
W San Francisco
If the Giants do make it back to AT&T Park for game six, you can get in on all the action nearby at the W's Living Room Bar. There's two big-screen TVs, San Francisco-made suds on tap (Big Daddy Speakeasy IPA) or by the bottle (Anchor Steam, Speakeasy Prohibition Ale) as well as variety of brews, wines on tap and liquors made right in the Bay Area. Plus, TRACE's executive chef Paul Piscopo has created some gourmet "cracker jacks" for spectators to enjoy.
