The World's Most Decadent Chocolate Cake
The world's most decadent chocolate cake starts with the perfect chocolate cake recipe. This recipe uses cake flour (instead of all-purpose flour) for a tender crumb.
Sour cream keeps the cake extra moist.
Salt enhances the cake's decadent chocolaty flavor.
Once your rich chocolate cake has baked and cooled (you will have three small round chocolate cakes), fill and frost the layers with a creamy, made-from-scratch chocolate frosting. The chocolate frosting is easy to make; it starts with homemade whipped cream.
After you whip the heavy cream, add melted chocolate and butter.
The best way to top a decadent chocolate cake? We like to use curls of shaved chocolate. You can make your own by softening a large piece of chocolate in the microwave on 50 percent power. Then, run a vegetable peeler along the block of chocolate to shave the curls off. If you're not using the curls right away, store them in the refrigerator.
