What We're Loving: UNREAL Candy

Like their slogan says, the UNREAL candy company is "unjunking the world." And after attempting to get their recipes right for two years, they finally achieved their goal. UNREAL's Nicky Bronner and Adam Melonas set out to embrace the good parts of candy while eliminating the unhealthy ingredients we usually see on ingredient lists of treats gracing store shelves. 

The duo put in the necessary leg work in creating their recipes and as a result have produced a line of five: Peanut Butter Cups, Chocolate Caramel Peanuts Nougat Bar, Chocolate Caramel Nougat Bar, Candy Coated Chocolates, and a Candy Coated Chocolate with Peanuts . 

Their products are made with wholesome ingredients, with more fiber and more protein than typical candies. The dairy comes from free-range, pasture-raised cows without antibiotics or added hormones, the palm kernel oil hails from a sustainable, organic farm in Brazil, the cacao beans are actually traceable, sourced from farms in Ghana and Ecuador that do not employ child slave labor — they've thought of everything!

And the candies are free from artificial ingredients; you won't find any corn syrup, hydrogenated oil, artificial flavors, GMOs, or synthetic colors on the nutrition labels — just one more reason to feel good about eating a bar of chocolate.
