Washington, D.C.'s Edgar Pours "Scandal"-Themed Cocktails
Fans of ABC's hit series "Scandal" and fancy cocktails are in for a treat. Washington, D.C.'s Mayflower Renaissance — which has seen its share of Presidential inaugural parties, celebrations and even a few scandals of its own — has created "Scandalous Thursdays" viewing parties at its restaurant, Edgar Bar & Kitchen, to celebrate the popular show.
During "Scandalous Thursdays" at Edgar, guests can watch the action heat up between lovers Olivia Pope and President Fitz Grant III while they cool down with specialty-themed cocktails. The party will begin every Thursday at 7 p.m., giving patrons a few hours to imbibe until the show starts at 10:00 p.m. Edgar's menu of "Scandal" concoctions include the Fitz gin fizz, a blend of gin, simple syrup, fresh lime and club soda; the B6-13, which fuses vodka, crème de cocoa, one shot of espresso and simple syrup; the gladiator, a mixture of rum, vodka, gin, tequila, triple sec, lemon juice and a splash of cola. Guests also can order the "Ms. Pope," Olivia Pope's favorite combo of red wine and popcorn.
For travelers and fans of the show looking for a weekend getaway, The Mayflower also is offering a "Secret Affairs" package for stays from Thursday through Sunday. This package includes overnight stays, breakfast for two at Edgar Bar & Kitchen, free valet parking, entrance to the "Scandal" viewing party at Edgar, complimentary appetizer and cocktails for two at Edgar Bar & Kitchen in addition to gratis champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries upon arrival. This package is available through May 26. For more information, please visit their website.
