The Ultimate Leftover Thanksgiving Turkey Sandwich
Once the plates have been cleared, the candles blown out, and the dishwasher loaded, there's nothing left of Thanksgiving except for the leftovers. For many, reheating a plate full of mashed potatoes, turkey, stuffing, and gravy is a good enough way to reminisce about the food-filled holiday, but for others, there's only one thing they look forward to when it comes to the scraps: the Thanksgiving turkey sandwich.

Some know it as a Turkey delight, others just call it a Thanksgiving sandwich, and there are the few folks from the Northeast who call it a Nobadeer. But whatever you call it, the simple combination of Thanksgiving's key dishes piled together between two pieces of bread brings new meaning to the celebratory meal.
While variations exist, most can agree that a true leftovers sandwich only contains three staple ingredients: turkey, cranberry, and stuffing. There are many ways to put it together — heating the turkey, leaving the stuffing cold, or adding a dash of mayonnaise — and as always, the Cook editors at The Daily Meal set out to determine the best version.
After many brainstorming sessions and extensive research, we were able to dream up the ideal leftover Thanksgiving turkey sandwich, and developed the perfect recipe to make it a reality. With the help of our friend Alexis Murphy of Jac o' lyn Murphy, we tested and tested until we got it right, and can now present you with the ultimate leftover Thanksgiving sandwich. This recipe gives a whole new meaning to a turkey sandwich — taking texture, taste, and flavor into consideration unlike any other recipe before. It will make your mouth water, and may give you an excuse to rehearse your Thanksgiving meal a few times before the actual holiday.
