You Won't Believe What's On The Pet Menus At These 8 Hotels (Slideshow)

If it wasn't served in a dog bowl, I would have thought the Chaminade Resort and Spa's delicious-looking peanut butter bacon "pup-cake" could be consumed by humans. (Wait, can it? Asking for a friend...)

But I suppose dogs have all the luck at Chaminade and its in-house restaurant, Linwood's Bar & Grill, which offers an extensive "Pooch Patio Menu" that rivals some human food menus. In addition to "yappetizers" like gourmet doggie biscuits, bacon strips, and hard-boiled eggs with low-fat cottage cheese, Linwood's also features entrées of grilled chicken and rice, raw ground beef meatballs, and salmon. Top it all off with the aforementioned cupcake or a honey banana ice pop and you should have one happy pup. No need to stay in your room for this meal; leashed dogs are welcome on the patio during lunch and dinner.

Inn by the Sea, Crescent Beach, Maine

Maine's Inn by the Sea holds a unique distinction in that it does not charge extra for guests who wish to bring along their pets. As for extra amenities, the Inn offers in-room spa services, water bowls, beach towels, cozy blankets, L.L. Bean dog beds, walking and daycare services, and signatures treats at turndown time.

Lists of nearby walking trails, pet-friendly beaches, and free-range parks can be provided, and the hungry animals can return to the Inn and feast on "Doggy Gumbo" made with Angus beef tips or grilled chicken (both served with steamed rice, raw vegetables, and a dog cookie), as well as ice cream topped with crumbled dog bones.

Sunset Tower Hotel, West Hollywood, Calif.

The historic Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood was designed in 1929, but that doesn't mean they aren't with the times. Like numerous California hotels, the Sunset Tower now offers a pet menu — and this one's a doozy. The options include a chopped sirloin cheeseburger served with raw carrot fries, a grilled boneless chicken breast, and strips of rare New York strip steak, in addition to traditional dry or wet dog food. According to the hotel, the menu was approved by Bisou, the canine "Director of Goodwill" (DOG), giving it that extra dose of credibility.

Side note: When writing this caption, I accidentally typed "West Hollywoof," and I'd just like to point out that the Sunset Tower Hotel should utilize that name in some way. No need to thank me.
