Grand Solmar At Rancho San Lucas Set To Open In Cabo San Lucas In 2017

The family-owned Solmar Group is adding another property to its portfolio for guests to call their second home: Grand Solmar at Rancho San Lucas. Set to open in winter 2017, Rancho San Lucas is currently being built on a gentle slope overlooking the Pacific Ocean and will boast 1.2 miles of white sand on the largest sand beach in the Baja desert.

Once the private playground for the Solmar family — who runs the boutique Mexican hotel chain that boasts a quintet of all-suite properties in Cabo San Lucas — the 834-acre property will include a bar and an outpost of La Roca, Solmar Group's signature restaurant that has been operated by chef Hector Lucas since its opening at Grand Solmar Land's End six years ago. Known for its Baja cuisine, La Roca is one of several restaurants set to open at the resort, adding to the burgeoning restaurant scene in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Located 20 minutes from downtown Cabo San Lucas, the all-suite property will be the first Solmar resort with a golf course. The 18-hole Greg Norman-designed course will feature one island green and most of the holes will have ocean views. Swim up bars, an expansive spa, multiple pools, a tennis center, and a range of resort activities round out the offerings.

Grand Solmar at Rancho San Lucas is part of a master-planned community that includes The Villas and The Estates, private, single-level estate homes and condos with Spanish and Mexican architecture and a Mexican-inspired pedestrian village that includes shopping and dining.
