Alex Atala, World Renowned Brazilian Chef Of DOM, Teams With Try The World For A Special Edition 'Brazil' Box
Alex Atala — the Brazilian celebrity chef behind the acclaimed restaurant D.O.M. (ranked second on The Daily Meal's list of the 101 Best Restaurants in Latin America and the Caribbean for 2015) — has teamed up with Try The World, the popular subscription service which offers members a look — and taste — of a different region of the world every two months, for a special edition Brazil box, debuting just before the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, next August.
In addition to running one of the world's best restaurants, Atala is the founder of the ATA Institute, a think tank dedicated to sustainable farming and the protection of indigenous tribal groups.
"I believe that [Try The World's] audience will appreciate what I have been working on for so long, to bring the ingredients from my country to the broader public, "Atala said in a statement. "Try The World is a unique platform to introduce special and distinct Brazilian ingredients to the United States. With this partnership, we can prove that the most powerful form of social media is not the Internet or Facebook — it is food. Food is what connects human beings."
Currently, Try The World is promoting its Spain Box, curated with help from James Beard Award-winning chef Jamie Bissonnette of Toro and Coppa.
