8 Iconic Cocktails From Around The World
An upstate New York newspaper in 1806 was the first to use the word "cocktail" in reference to a drink, and now cocktails are a part of cultures all over the world. Cocktail recipes abound online for every occasion, and themed bars and restaurants offer cocktails corresponding with television shows and other pop culture references. McGee's Pub in New York City inspired the hit sitcom How I Met Your Mother, and as such, they offer cocktails named for the show, like "The Pineapple Incident" and "Robin Sparkles." The world's most iconic cocktails, however, have been around for decades – some even for hundreds of years.
