Tom Colicchio To Open First Miami Restaurant
Tom Colicchio, Top Chef head judge and James Beard award-winning chef, is heading south to launch his first restaurant in Miami this fall, according to the Miami New Times.
The celebrity chef and restaurateur will open a farm-to-table concept in the new 1 Hotel & Homes South Beach development. The menu will focus on seafood dishses with Mediterranean flavors, and ingredients will be organic and sourced locally.
The new eatery, which has yet to be named, will be located on Collins Avenue, between 23rd and 24th streets. The restaurant is expected to draw attention of course, not just from the Colicchio name, but also from the development's 406 hotel rooms, 161 residences, four pools, a health club and spa, which will attract hundreds to the property daily.
Colicchio is known for Craft Restaurants, which began in 2001 when he opened Craft restaurant in New York City. The company now operates an additional six establishments, including a hotel. His brands include Craftbar and Colicchio & Sons in New York, Craftsteak at the MGM Grand and Tom Colicchio's Heritage Steak in Las Vegas, Craft in Los Angeles, and Topping Rose House, a luxury hotel and restaurant in the Hamptons.
