Third Annual L.A. Loves Alex's Lemonade Stand Happening September 29
Come hungry and leave satisfied, in more ways than expected.
On Saturday, September 29, chefs, celebrities, and food lovers will gather together in support of cancer funding and awareness for the third annual L.A. Loves Alex's Lemonade event. This immense Los Angeles benefit offers an afternoon of gourmet dining, cocktails, and silent and live auctions for ticket holders, all aimed at furthering the fundraising efforts of Alex's Lemonade Stand.
Alex's Lemonade Stand is an organization started by a young girl named Alex who, though she sadly passed away at the age of eight, dreamed of using her lemonade stand to raise money for cancer research. In her memory, more than fifty-five million dollars has been raised, a testament to the will of a young girl with an inspirational goal. The L.A. Loves Alex's Lemonade benefit works to contribute a significant donation of funds to the organization, last year raising more than $400,000 for the cause.
This year's crop of celebrity supporters is vast, including honorary hosts Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka, emcee Jimmy Kimmel, and cast members of popular shows like Criminal Minds, Parks & Recreation, The Office, Parenthood, Girls, and the Disney Channel. Popular chefs offering their complimentary cooking services at the event include Giada De Laurentiis, Paul Kahan, Chris Bianco, Nancy Oakes, Michael Voltaggio, and Rocco Whalen, among others.
The event will be held from noon to four at Culver Studios, an independent production facility. Tickets begin at $175 and range to the ambitious price of $25,000, with proceeds going toward cancer research.
