Ketchup has been criticized for its sugar content, aroma, texture, and overall plainness. Luckily, we have the perfect way for you to enhance your ketchup’s flavor right at home.
Since ketchup lacks spiciness, chipotle peppers, which are commonly packed in adobo sauce rich of vinegar, onion, and other flavors, are an excellent complement.
To make your own chipotle-infused ketchup, add one bottle of ketchup, two peppers, and a tablespoon of adobo sauce to a blender and blend until the texture is smooth.
Other ingredients that mix well with ketchup include horseradish, whose spiciness is offset by the vinegar in ketchup, and kalamata olives, which are smoky and fruity.
