The No-Frills Method To Make Pie Crust From Leftover Cookies

If you want to make a pie crust but lack the proper ingredients, leftover cookies can do the trick. You’ll need butter, a bag, a rolling pin, and a pie plate.
Place the cookies in a plastic bag, and crumble them with a rolling pin — or use a food processor. “Joy of Cooking” recommends 6 tablespoons of melted butter for 1½ cups of crumbs.
The Pioneer Woman favors 1¾ cups cookie crumbs, but cautions that for graham cracker crumbs, you'll want to upgrade to 8 tablespoons of butter because they absorb more.
Press the mixture into a pie plate, using your hands or a utensil to flatten it on the bottom and up along the edges, and add your filling.
A wide variety of cookies — from Shortbread and Oreo to chocolate chip and snickerdoodle — make great crusts, and you’ll learn quickly which cookie pairs best with which filling.
