Sarah Tereskini, a TikToker who posts clever craft ideas on her page redeux_style, showcased the DIY that's fairly easy to execute and totally practical.

Start by cleaning the bottles thoroughly to eliminate any labels or sticky syrup, then remove the plastic ring that seals the caps shut once the bottles are dry.
Scotch painter's tape
Tereskini advises viewers to put a piece of painter's tape over each bottle cap to help the drilled holes come out "cleaner" without any ragged plastic edges.

Through the tape, pierce the caps with a 19/64 drill bit. Tereskini puts three holes in the pepper shaker cap and five for the salt.
