The Aldi Fries That Seemingly Taste Exactly Like McDonald's
By Camryn Teder
If you love McDonald's fries, Aldi allegedly offers a special type of frozen fry that tastes exactly like the thin, crunchy potatoes. They're even vegan- and vegetarian-friendly.
From the brand Oakhurst, the fries come in two frozen cartons and only need to be heated in the oven for 12-13 minutes at 220 degrees Celsius (about 425 degrees Fahrenheit).
However, the fries are only available in the United Kingdom, so those in the U.K. can check out their local Aldi to find them retailing at just £1.49.
One man from Facebook attempted to re-create an entire McDonald's meal exclusively using Aldi products and called the Oakhurst fries "every bit as good as I thought it would be."
A TikTok user urged fans to "not walk to Aldi, run to Aldi" for the dupe, and another fan commented on the video, praising, "European Aldi is Undefeated."
While McDonald's uses beef flavoring for their fries, the Oakhurst fries from Aldi don't contain any kind of beef flavoring, making them safe for vegetarians and vegans alike.
