Ree Drummond's Ultimate Cinnamon Toast Never Touches A Toaster
By Arianna Endicott
Ree Drummond, of Food Network's "The Pioneer Woman," knows a thing or two about preparing the perfect breakfast. In fact, she has her own way of making cinnamon toast that doesn't involve a toaster at all.
Drummond uses whole wheat bread and a mixture of softened, salted butter, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Then she spreads it over each slice of bread and puts it on a cookie sheet in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes.
This method ensures an even melt of the butter, as well as some caramelization of the sugar, which will not happen if you toast bread and add the toppings afterward. You can also use a thicker bread, but you’ll have to add a little extra sugar to make up for it.
