Those who are not that familiar with Jimmy Buffett may be curious about his connection to the Margaritaville franchise, as it features his name and boasts a long list of services.
Buffett released the song "Margaritaville" in 1977, years before the hotels and restaurants, and with its allusions to the Caribbean, the connection with the franchise is strong.
The song's name actually became so popular that Buffett couldn't franchise a club called Margaritaville in the early 1980s because other establishments had beaten him to it.
At the time of his passing, Buffett had a 28% ownership stake in the company worth around $180 million, according to Forbes, so his legacy will no doubt live on in Margaritaville.
