For A Snack-Worthy Crunch, Air Fry
Leftover Rice
By Chase Shustack
While you’ve no doubt heard of fried rice, you’ve likely never thought of frying rice in your air fryer — but it’s a great way to make crispy snacks from leftover or fresh rice.
There's a simple and delicious recipe by TikTok user Foodiechina888 that requires only leftover rice, some common sauces, and your favorite seasonings to prepare.
First, combine 1 ½ cups leftover rice, 3 teaspoons light soy sauce, 1 teaspoon cooking oil, 1 teaspoon white sesame seeds, and 1 teaspoon oyster sauce together in a bowl.
Next, mix thoroughly and line your air fryer basket with parchment paper, before dumping the rice inside and flattening it with your hands.
Lastly, fry the rice at 356 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes, flipping it over halfway through.
Once the rice is cooked, break it apart before sprinkling it with your favorite seasonings. The result should be a cross between crunchy chips and rice cakes.
