Steak 'N Shake Tries To Set Birthday Record
Birthdays are an important time for everyone. It's a time to look back on previous years and look forward to coming ones. But most importantly it's a time to celebrate with food, drink, and good company.
Steak 'n Shake is turning 80 this year and it's celebrating with its customers. This Saturday the restaurant chain is attempting to set a Guinness World Record for the "Largest Birthday Sing-Along." It's going to have all its customers at all 529 locations across the country sing happy birthday all at once. This ambitious birthday celebration made us wonder what other birthday records have been set, and who will try to break them. We chatted with the Guinness World Records to find this out, and couldn't believe what some of those records were:
Most Birthday Greetings Videos Received
The Polish chocolate company, Kinder Niespodzianka, received 10,754 greetings videos in 2012. Talk about feeling popular.
Longest Birthday Card Exchange
Two very dedicated Americans, Mary Wheaton and Pat Shardelow, have sent the same birthday card back and forth since 1944. We have to wonder what it looks like now.
Largest Ice Cream Cake
A Dairy Queen in Canada made a cake that weighed 22,333.6 pounds in 2011. It was 14 ft 7 long, 13 ft 3 in wide, and 3 ft 3 in tall. As delicious as that sounds, we don't think we could eat that much cake.
Most Contributions to a Greeting Card
Last year, the City of Friedschafen in Germany achieved 7,355 contributions to a greeting card celebrating the 175th anniversary of Graf Zeppelin. This makes every greeting card we've ever received seem pretty lame.
