StarChefs.com Hosts A Rising Star Gala In Atlanta

The nationally acclaimed website, StarChefs.com has announced its 2012 Atlanta Rising Stars.

The Rising Star awards recognize up-and-coming chefs, pastry chefs, sommeliers, and mixologists who represent future leaders of the national culinary scene. StarChefs.com chooses four cities across the nation each year to name focus its awards. 

In Atlanta, more than 80 chefs were considered and about 20 were chosen to receive the honor this year.

A Rising Star gala will be held in their honor on June 13 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Goats Farm Arts Center in Atlanta, hosted by chefs Chad Clevenger and Shayne Vaughan.

"We've found a creative, eclectic, and burgeoning culinary landscape in Atlanta," said StarChefs.com Editor-in-Chief Antoinette Bruno. "It's the heart of farm-to-table, artisanal product and historical cooking. This city is the epitome of Southern cuisine."

The walk-around gala will showcase the culinary expertise in both food and drink of the Rising Star winners. Guests will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite dish of the night. 

Local artist David Baerwalde will showcase his most recent exhibition called "delicious objects" during the event. 

General admission tickets are $85 and VIP tickets are $125.
