So Long, Pumpkin Spice, Starbucks' Winter Red Cups Are Back
October is gone, which means one thing: Pumpkin Spice season is over. With November, Starbucks brings back its festive red winter cups and cold-weather beverages.
Every year the return of Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte signals the start of fall, and when Pumpkin Spice gives way to the Peppermint Mocha, the Gingerbread Latte, and the Caramel Brûlée Latte, we're officially in the holiday season.
All three specialty winter beverages come in festive red cups that are perfect for posing with on Instagram. They also come topped with whipped cream and sprinkles, which are tasty but also make the beverages look prettier in photos. The Gingerbread Latte is topped with spice-infused whipped cream and a molasses drizzle, the Peppermint Mocha is topped with sweetened whipped cream and dark chocolate curls, and the Caramel Brûlée Latte is topped with sweetened whipped cream and sprinkled with crunchy caramel brulée topping.
To celebrate the return of Starbucks' photogenic winter drinks, the company is holding an Instagram photo contest. Just take a photo of the red cup in the most artful way possible and post it to Instagram with the hashtag #redcupcontest. The five best photos will receive a limited edition sterling silver Starbucks card. The cards come preloaded with a $50 Starbucks credit and sell for $200. Photos must be submitted by the end of the day on November 3, and winners will be announced on the Starbucks blog on November 5.
