South Florida's Not-To-Miss Oktoberfests
Like many international holidays celebrated in America, Germany's Oktoberfest has quickly become one of our most beloved drinking festivities, and an excuse to gluttonously indulge on beer. So, for all you Oktoberfest lovers out there (you know who you are!) luckily there is still time to hit up some of the best festivals in South Florida.
The German American Social Club of Greater Miami will be hosting its 56th Oktoberfest next weekend. Visit the longest continuously running Oktoberfest in the country, for plenty of authentic German beer and food. Enjoy live music from German and Austrian bands, and performances from traditional German dance groups. Day tickets for adults are $10, $1 for 12-20 year-olds, and military personnel and children are free. The event will take place October 25th- 27th, and is located at 11919 SW 56th Street in Miami.
The American German Club of the Palm Beaches has proudly hosted its authentic Oktoberfests for 40 years, making it one of the largest in the country. The club will be hosting its Oktoberfest all weekend long, and like every year, they'll be offering visitors a "real" German experience. Expect authentic cuisine, including bratwurst, potato salad, and sauerkraut, and gulp the Original Hofbräu Bier, imported from Munich. Visitors can enjoy activities for the whole family, including traditional folk dancing, live music from German bands, crafts and a carnival. Admission for adults is $8, and children under 12 with a paying adult are free. The event takes place today, Friday, October 18th to Sunday, October 20th, and is located at 5111 Lantana Road, Lake Worth, FL 33463.
