Sonic Debuts Chocolate Jalapeño And Other Shake Flavors
The world may not be ready for Sonic's kale cream pie shake (which turned out to be an April Fool's joke), but Sonic wasn't fooling when it introduced a new spicy flavor to the summer round-up of popular shakes: jalapeño chocolate. Sonic will also be debuting two other slightly less unusual flavors , OREO peanut butter and salted caramel, as part of their "summer of shakes" where customers can order any one of the 22 Sonic shake flavors for half-price after 8 p.m. starting April 21st.
"After months of testing interesting but still delicious flavor combinations, we've created some seriously enticing shake flavors," said chef Claes Petersson, vice president of product innovation at Sonic. "Salted caramel is a wonderful trend we were happy to embrace, and chocolate covered jalapeño is a bold and fun twist on chocolate dipped fruit flavors —and who doesn't love the sound of OREO peanut butter?"
Last year, Sonic wowed customers with their unusual hit, the peanut butter and bacon shake, and are looking to strike big with the chocolate-covered jalapeño shake, which combines real ice cream with chocolate sauce and jalapeño.
