N.Y.'s Serendipity 3 Announces Outposts In Dubai
New York's famed Serendipity 3 restaurant is going on an exciting international trip, and it's taking its $1,000 sundaes with it, because the owners just announced plans to open two new locations in Dubai.
According to Gulf Business, the two Dubai locations will be Serendipity 3's first international outposts. One will open at The City Walk, and the other will open at Dubai Festival City, and both are projected to be open sometime in December, 2015.
Serendipity 3 is famed for its signature, high-end desserts, including the $1,000 Golden Opulence Sundae, which in 2007 was awarded the Guinness World Record for the world's most expensive dessert. In 2012 the crown prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, ordered one of the famous sundaes at the Serendipity 3 in New York.
"This is an exciting chapter for Serendipity 3, to be launching our first overseas venture, in the Middle East," said founder Stephen Bruce. "Serendipity 3 ... has been an iconic New York City landmark for over 60 years. We hope that our outlets at Dubai Festival City and City Walk will also become landmark destinations."
