Sanrio's Lazy Egg Makes His Lunch Box Debut
Sanrio may be most famous for creating Hello Kitty, but its "Lazy Egg" character has a lot of fans of its own, and now those fans will be able to eat their idol, because Gudetama the lazy egg is being reborn as a series of fish cakes just right for tucking into a lunch box.
Sanrio's Gudetama character is a "lazy egg," usually depicted as an egg yolk with a somewhat distressed expression. Because he's an egg, one might think he'd make a decent egg character for bento boxes, but according to Rocket News 24, Gudetama is actually going to become a set of fish cakes.
The Gudetama fish cakes are made with scrambled eggs to make them that yellow color, and the fish cakes are described as having a sweet omelette flavor. They go on sale on March 20 and cost about $1.75 for a pack of four. The Gudetama fish cakes each have different facial expressions, any of which would be a pleasing addition to one of our best bento box recipes for lunch.
