Brickell, Miami Welcomes Its Newest Cocktail Lounge And Eatery, Baby Jane
This week Brickell welcomes its newest cocktail lounge and eatery, Baby Jane. Commenced by Native Sons Hospitality, the experienced trio chef Michael Beltran, Jason Odio, and Roman Jones are bringing a "New World American" approach with upscale, trendy bar bites and hand crafted cocktails.
The décor has a chic cabin feel, with brick walls adorn with elk horns, enormous bookshelves, and a cozy fireplace. The handcrafted cocktails selection, created with dozens of different house made bitters, is unparalleled. My personal favorite, the "Bebito," is made with Mezcal, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, Luxardo maraschino, green chartreuse, muddled fresh jalapeño, and rosemary. The flavors are perfection; not too spicy, unless requested (I went for two jalapeños, since I enjoy a little extra spice!).
Another house favorite, the "Jane & Juice", combines Bombay Sapphire gin, cucumber bitters, fresh lime juice, St. Germain, and egg white. Its a uniquely refreshing cocktail that's just right for Miami's climate. As for bites, if you are a lover of cheese as I am, you need to order the delicious fresh burrata from Mimmo's Market in North Miami. This refreshing starter is served with toasted pine nuts, saba, EVOO (extra virgin olive oil), and grilled baguettes. The Burratta is so fresh it absolutely melts in your mouth!
The duck and foie gras croquettes are impeccable and comes with Hudson Valley duck with foie gras, maraschino cherries, tarragon, and mint. It's served with fig ketchup. This mouth watering dish is brilliant! Bravo Chef! Last but not least, the local fish ceviche served with red pepper, red onion, avocado and radish, in a grapefruit, lime, lemon, and orange juice marinade. This ceviche brings a new exciting flavor to this classic dish. The overall experience is of utmost quality and exactly what Brickell has been missing. Welcome to the scene, Baby Jane!
