Kentucky Hot Cocoa
Nothing compliments a rich, homemade hot chocolate quite like a bit of spice. Straight from the kitchens of the Kentucky Derby, this easy-to-make cocktail packs quite the punch.This recipe is courtesy Monica Wolf, Kentucky Derby’s Bourbon Ambassador.

Ingredients
- 2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 a vanilla bean pod, split
- 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon cloves
- 1/8 teaspoon chipotle chile powder (optional)
- 4 tablespoon packed brown sugar
- 3 ounce mexican chocolate (or good quality unsweetened chocolate)
- 2 ounce bourbon
Directions
- In a carafe, add all ingredients.
- Pour in two mugs and serve.
