Higos Con Tetilla Asados

Ingredients
  • 8 figs
  • 1
  • 7 ounce
  • 1/2 cup soft brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons sweet sherry wine, preferably pedro ximénez
  • butter
  • bread sticks, to serve
Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Slice the figs in half and place them in a roasting tray with the cinnamon stick.
  3. Break the cheese into pieces and spread it over the figs.
  4. Sprinkle with the sugar and the sweet sherry wine. Finish with a knob of butter and bake for 15–20 minutes.
  5. Have some bread sticks to hand and enjoy this simple but very serious treat.
  6. Notes:
  7. For a really pretty dish, cut a cross in the top of each fig and open them out like flowers before cooking.
