- 7 ounce
- 1/2 cup soft brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons sweet sherry wine, preferably pedro ximénez
- butter
- bread sticks, to serve
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Slice the figs in half and place them in a roasting tray with the cinnamon stick.
- Break the cheese into pieces and spread it over the figs.
- Sprinkle with the sugar and the sweet sherry wine. Finish with a knob of butter and bake for 15–20 minutes.
- Have some bread sticks to hand and enjoy this simple but very serious treat.
- Notes:
- For a really pretty dish, cut a cross in the top of each fig and open them out like flowers before cooking.
