Slow-Cooker Pulled Pork Sandwiches

Ingredients
  • 4 pound pork shoulder roast
  • water
  • 1 bottle bbq sauce
  • 1 onion, roughly chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon or lime juic
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • buns and spring mix for serving
Directions
  1. Place roast in slow cooker. Cover with water. Cover. Cook on high 5 to 6 hours or low 10 to 12 hours.
  2. Remove roast from slow cooker. Place in a 9 by 13 pan. Remove fat. The large section of fat should be falling off (see picture below). Shred pork with two forks. It should very easily come apart. Discard cooking liquid. Return shredded pork to slow cooker. Add remaining ingredients (except buns and lettuces). Cover. Cook on low 2 hours or high 1 hour. Serve shredded pork on toasted buns with spring mix or by itself.
