"This is the ultimate treat for breakfast or brunch and is so simple to make," she raves. "Sweet, fluffy, and eggy, there is a wonderful combination of flavors here — and it works so well with the sharpness of fresh berries. My kids absolutely adore this." Who doesn't love a meal that is great for kids and adults alike?

Gather the ingredients for this brioche french toast

You will need only a few ingredients to whip up this dish. Pick up eggs, whole milk, ground cinnamon, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, butter, a brioche loaf, maple syrup, and fresh berries. "I like to use brioche loaf slices as they can be cut thickly, and they already have a lovely buttery finish," Dalton notes. "If you don't have brioche bread, you can use regular bread, too."

Whisk the eggs and heat the skillet

Take out a baking dish and add the eggs. Whisk the eggs well, then toss the milk, vanilla extract, sugar, and cinnamon. With the second round of ingredients, you will need to whisk again until everything is well-combined.

Then, place a large skillet on your stove and add one tablespoon of butter. Turn the heat to medium.

Coat the french toast

Now, it's time to bust out the brioche bread. Place one slice in the egg mixture and coat both sides well. Once the butter in the skillet starts to foam, you can add the coated piece of brioche bread. You can dip as many pieces of brioche bread that will comfortably fit in the pan.

Flip and continue cooking

You will need to cook each slice of bread for around 3 minutes on the first side before you flip it over to the other side. Once you flip, cook on the other side for an additional 3 minutes.

Place the cooked french toast on a foiled-lined plate to keep it nice and warm while you cook the remaining slices. Be sure to wipe down the skillet with a paper towel before you add butter with each new toast addition.

Serve and enjoy

Once you finish the batch, you can plate and serve as you wish. This brioche french toast is great topped with a drizzle of maple syrup and some fresh berries. "You can use lots of different combinations of toppings if berries aren't your thing," Dalton notes. "Why not try this French toast recipe with bacon strips, or if you haven't got maple syrup, honey would also be a good alternative."

Another bonus about this recipe is that you can stretch the leftovers. "You can keep french toast, providing it's wrapped up properly in the refrigerator for up to three days, and reheat when you want to eat it," Dalton notes. "Or even freeze it for up to three months."
