Profane Sports Bar Receipt Targets Son, Angers Father
When Joseph Gibson received the check following Father's Day dinner at a St. Louis sports bar with his son, he was not anticipating the final listing on the receipt.
There, beneath the expected charges for his fried chicken and soda, was the f-bomb: "1 – F—in Needy Kids."
Gibson was justifiably furious with the bar's manager and with the waitress who had been serving them. The waitress claimed that it had been a joke with the kitchen staff and that she had meant to delete the expletive, but Gibson did not find the "joke" funny.
According to CNN, Denny Domachowski, the manager of the bar—Friendly's Sports Bar and Grill—the waitress "didn't mean to offend the gentleman and his son. She had a good experience with them as customers. She was just in a hurry and forgot to take that off [the receipt]." Domachowski claims to have reprimanded the waitress, but Gibson has not been satisfied with the bar's efforts to amend the issue, and said that he was hung up on following a phone conversation with Domachowski.
