Portland Plays Host To NW Ciderfest
Bring the whole family down to NW Ciderfest, an event featuring tastings from over 20 ciders, taking place this Saturday, October 11, in Pioneer Courthouse Square. The mixology showcase features some of Portland's top bartenders creating cider-based cocktails using local favorites Reverend Nat's Hard Cider and Indio Spirits. Served in the VIP area, The Cider House Rules is one of those cocktails.
Created by Reverend Nat himself and distiller Mark White it is a mix of 1.5 ounces James Oliver American Whiskey, 2 ounces Apricot syrup, 3 medium fresh mint leaves, 1 ounce Indio Barrel Room Curacao, ¼ ounce simple syrup & ⅛medium lemon. Shake over ice and pour into pint glass, then float 3 ounces of Reverend Nat's Hopricot Hard Cider.
Live music from 3 Leg Torso, Jacob Miller & The Bridge City Crooners, and Joseph Konty will provide the entertainment. The Umpqua Bank Pioneer Orchard will featuring fall crafts, fall-flavored ice cream, pony rides, carnival games and more. All the featured ciders will be available for purchase in the cider store in addition to commemorative glasses and bottle totes. NW Ciderfest benefits the Oregon & SW Washington chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Camp Arrah Wanna summer camp.
