Oscar Mayer Rolls Out Bacon Dogs

It seems as if you can't turn a corner without encountering something bacon-related these days. And while just about every hot dog stand is offering a bacon-wrapped variety, we wager that there are very few that are offering hot dogs with bacon inside of them. But for those who need bacon infused into everything they eat, Oscar Mayer has announced that they'll be rolling out Bacon Dogs by the end of the month.

Actual pieces of bacon will be studded into the dogs, which will also contain chicken, turkey, and other pork products, according to a release. The packaging will also feature a photo of sizzling bacon, just to reinforce that this isn't an ordinary hot dog.

"We know Americans love bacon, and we know they love hot dogs, so it seemed like the perfect time for us to introduce our first hot dog made with bacon," Oscar Mayer brand director Jared Baker said in a statement.

While the Bacon Dogs will most likely be the most high-profile hot dog release this summer, the brand is also launching a couple of additional new products. There's the Smokies Smoked Sausages, which will use the same formula as their discontinued "Lil Smokies" but come in a 14-ounce size, and they're also rolling out chicken breast Oscar Mayer Selects, which will contain no hormones or gluten.
