Would You Try Starbucks' New Beer-Flavored Coffee?
Beer before breakfast? Starbucks wants to make that a reality, with their new double barrel latte — currently being tested at select Starbucks locations — that is meant to taste like a Guinness. The new double barrel latte topped with whipped cream, a dark caramel sauce and flavored coffee syrup that's designed to taste like Irish stout beers. Starbucks assures us that while the drink is inspired by dark beer, no actual alcohol will be involved in the making of this latte.
Currently, the drink is being tested in Columbus, Ohio, and in some locations in Florida. If you happen to stop at any of the testing locations, be sure to fill out the survey detailing the plusses and minuses of the ale-flavored coffee.
The drink is described thus: "inspired by the rise of craft beers, Dark Barrel brings together savory toasty malt and chocolaty tastes topped with sweet dark caramel drizzle. This sophisticated combination offers a delicious complexity that build with every sip."
Here's what people are saying about the double barrel latte:
not a latte/Sbux guy but @ryanmagada said it was like beer. And it was. How they pull off that flavor in the dark barrel latte is beyond me

Severely disappointed in @Starbucks. The Dark Barrel Latte is horrid. Bring back my Salted Caramel Latte to Ohio, PLEASE. #notfallwithoutit
