Watch: Grant Achatz Takes On Modern Chinese Cuisine At Next

Next restaurant in Chicago, whose executive chef Dave Beran was recently named one of the Best Chefs in America at the 2014 James Beard Awards, is taking on modern Chinese cuisine.

The new menu of "Chinese: Modern" will be featured at Next from May to August.

"Noodles, buns, dumplings, seafood, poultry, pork — all the basics could be covered," teases the restaurant. "Chinese cuisine typically favors small portions of each dish but many bites, not unlike many of the menus at Next. But while we honor the ingredients and traditions, we will bring a unique Modernist attitude to this menu. Recognizably Chinese....recognizably Next."

Following the modern Chinese menu, Next will introduce a "Trio" menu celebrating the 10 year anniversary of Alinea in 2015. The year's final menu will "revist the Tour de Force Menu that chef Achatz served on January 2004."
