Watch: Alton Brown Teaches Us How To Tie A Bowtie
This week in the Alton Brown-iverse, the Cook Smart host brings us a lesson on dressing for dinner, rather than cooking or eating it. Specifically, Alton Brown shows the "bow-curious" the proper way to tie a bowtie.
Why? Because, in the words of the 11th Doctor (Who), "Bowties are cool."
Not only are they extremely fashionable, but according to our thoughtful host, "bowties are imminently practical." For example, "When wearing a bowtie, one does not worry about spilling mustard on your tie. Just get it on your shirt, and shirts are really cheap to clean."
What's more, bowties are infinitely safer neck attire for those inclined to get into fisticuffs. "In a bowtie, you'll never worry about being tie-strangled in a fight."
Unlike clueless necktie wearers, "Bowties allow you to stylishly sidestep the myriad hazards that straight tie wearers commonly face each and every day."
Watch the video below, and follow through to Alton's website for written instructions.
In case you missed it, here's last week's episode.
