This Beer Tells You How Much To Drink To Boost Your Creative Juices
We've all been there: you're trying to get a term paper done, or dealing with a particular thorny problem at work, and you reach for another cup of coffee or one of those off-putting "5-Hour Energy" shots. But what if you could throw back a beer instead? University of Illinois professor Jennifer Wiley has come up with some pretty compelling evidence that small amounts of alcohol can get your creative juices flowing. So CP+B Copenhagen and Danish brewery Rocket Brewing came up with their own beer: an IPA that comes with a scale. Based on your height and weight, the beer will then tell you how much to drink to give your brain a little "oomph."
It's called the Problem Solver: a 7.1 percent ABV IPA that offers "refined bitterness with a refreshing finish." The bottle does come with its own warning: "Enjoying the right amount will enhance your creative thinking. Drinking more will probably do exactly the opposite." In other words, if you're feeling tipsy, you're probably well past your creative peak.
Engadget claims that the beer is simply a fun marketing ploy, but gimmick or not, the beer is only available in Copenhagen.
