Pro-Tip: Don't Put Wine In Your Sodastream; It Will Explode
Here's an early submission for this year's Darwin Awards. One teenager came up with the brilliant idea to make homemade sparkling wine by putting red wine into his Sodastream, and the results aren't pretty. In a move that ended up looking like the parting of the Red Sea, the future entrepreneur of the year poured half a bottle of wine into the Sodastream container. He kept pumping more carbon dioxide in until the bottle overflowed and washed his entire kitchen in an impressive waterfall of red wine.
It seems that this YouTuber knew exactly what he was doing though, as he attempted to make this "sparkling wine bomb." As he was pumping the wine full of more fizz, he said, almost prophetically, "wine does stain your clothes," and then as the fizz began to spill over, "I think it's going to explode!"
His experiment has likely resulted in a serious grounding. We contacted Sodastream for their thoughts on the matter, but have yet to hear back. The Daily Meal staff tried a similar experiment with whiskey, and got some serious fizzy whiskey overflow, but at least our kitchen wasn't ruined.
