Each week, we take a look at the upcoming restaurants around the country.
Baltimore:
Brian Voltaggio will open AGGIO Baltimore, a relaxed fine-dining restaurant focusing on Italian cuisine "within the context of his beloved Mid-Atlantic home." The menu will change daily, and there will be two levels for relaxed and formal dining experiences. AGGIO Baltimore opens June 28.
New York:
The NoMad Bar, from Daniel Humm and Will Guidara, is now open.
Michelin-rated chef Polo Dobkin and his wife Stephanie Lempert will open Meadowsweet in Williamsburg. Entrees include Chatham Cod "Pil Pil" with Brandade and Roasted Garlic, and Colorado Lamb Loin & Rib Confit with Swiss Chard and Fresh Cranberry Beans.
The restaurant formerly known as Sen will re-open as Koa under the guidance of Keiko Ono Aoki, who will partner with the former Sen team and of Iron Chef Yuji Wakiya.
Scott Crawford will open a bodega in New York City, although it's more like a "food lovers' fantasy market" that aims to make "Dean and Deluca look like... your corner store."
Mexicue has retired the legendary food truck, and will open its first ever full-service restaurant and bar concept in Time Square.
Fields Good Chicken is now open in New York City's Financial District. Fields is focused on grilled and roasted chicken, and was created by "a former financier-turned-competitive-bike-racer-turned-chef"
Cold-brew coffee café Birch Coffee will open a fourth Manhattan location on the Upper East Side at 134 ½ East 62nd Street this summer.
Hill Country Barbecue Market's Seasonal Stand is open again at Lincoln Center at the Damrosch Park Bandshell during Midsummer Night Swing and Lincoln Center Out of Doors.
Sindhi restaurant Kailash Parbat has introduced a chaat bar: savory snacks and small bites typically found in food carts in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal.
Outback at the Candy Store: A vegan BBQ pop-up restaurant will open in Pete's backyard beginning June 22. Here's the menu for the first feast: Green Machine Slider, Pineapple Jerk Slider, Pulled Squash Taco, Ginger Tamari Brussels Sprout Kebab, Tropical Fruit Pop.
Sticky's Finger Joint will open a second location in Murray Hill at 33rd and 3rd on Tuesday, July 1.
Penthouse808 at Ravel Hotel in Long Island City has reopened with executive chef Seth Levine, who will create a menu inspired by Hawaiian and Asian cuisine.
Portland, Ore:
M.E.C., a "restaurant without borders" will open August 1 from John Gorham and Kasey Mills. The Pearl District restaurant will focus on eastern Mediterranean cuisine.
Miami:
Pubbelly Restaurant Group (Andreas Schreiner, Sergio Navarro and Jose Mendin) will open L'echon Brasserie is open as of Friday, June 20. The "French-done, Pubbelly-style" bistro is located at the Hilton Cabana Miami Beach. L'echon will seat 150 and includes indoor, outdoor, and courtyard spaces.
Las Vegas:
SLS Las Vegas Hotel & Casino will open ahead of schedule on August 23.
Los Angeles:
Barton G. LA – The Restaurant is now open in West Hollywood and will celebrate hotelier and author Barton G Weiss' commitment to "The Art of Being Social." The menu is neo-classic American fare: Mouse Trap Mc & Cheese, Bucket of Bones (barbecued Korean-style short ribs and other barbecued meats), Samurai Tuna, and more.
Croft Alley, a private supper club that will offer "world-influenced deli cuisine" will open soon on Melrose Place.
San Francisco: Alvin Garcia and Tom Patella will open Causwells on July 2. The menu will feature American cuisine with European influences and will be located in the Presidio Theater Building in the Marina district.
