Katz's Deli Creates Grinch-Themed "Roast Beast Sandwich"
All the Whos down in Whoville, the tall and the small, will want to eat Katz's new sandwich after all! The infamous Katz's deli in New York is serving a Grinch-themed sandwich for the holiday season called the "Roast Beast," named after the dish served during the Whoville Christmas dinner. "Beast" is definitely an apt word for the sandwich, made with roast beef, turkey, Katz's house-made soft salami, coleslaw, and Russian dressing, all piled high between two slices of rye bread.
The sandwich will be sold from November 17 to December 28. The Seuss-ical specialty is being promoted as a tie-in with Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical, which is playing at Madison Square Garden from December 5 through the 28 at $22 per ticket. The special-occasion sandwich is indeed special, because Katz's deli rarely creates "monstrosity" sandwiches like this, focusing on quality instead of quantity. Don't forget a pickle! It goes nice with the Grinch's verdigris.
