The James Beard Foundation Debuts Its First-Ever Recipe App
The James Beard Foundation has launched its first-ever iOS app, James Beard Foundation Vegetables: Recipes by James Beard Award–Winning Chefs, featuring vegetable dishes from celebrated American chefs that have been translated into simple recipes for home cooks.
The recipes, selected from The James Beard Foundation's Best of the Best: A 25th Anniversary Celebration of America's Outstanding Chefs, include summer garden lettuce salad from Alice Waters, greenhouse salad with yogurt and summer zucchini from Dan Barber, seared fennel with fennel purée from Daniel Boulud, mixed vegetable ragout from Jeremiah Tower, Bietola e Patate (Swiss chard and potatoes) from Lidia Bastianich, and several more.
"The beautiful step-by-step photos and videos in this interactive app demonstrate just how seriously chefs take their vegetables," said Alison Tozzi Liu, editorial director of the James Beard Foundation.
"The app walks users through vibrant recipes ranging from simple to complex with expert guidance from some of our food world's greatest chefs. We're excited to be bringing more digital content to JBF members and food lovers around the country."
JBF Vegetables, which includes step-by-step photographs, videos, and special in-app features, is free to download and users can enjoy any five recipes at no charge. An in-app purchase of $3.99 unlocks the full recipe collection. Access to the entire app is free for Foundation members.
