Jacques Pépin And Isaac Mizrahi Team Up On Kickstarter

French chef Jacques Pépin and fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi have announced a collaborative Kickstarter campaign to fund "Artist's Table," an hour-long PBS special that will "highlight their own approaches to food and the parallels between the culinary arts and design."

Sponsorship for the campaign begins at $5, and includes options like a Mizrahi ringtone for $50 ("Darling, answer the phone!"), or a Pépin version ("Répondez, répondez, répondez au téléphone!").

The Kickstarter campaign, which aims to raise $290,000 to fund the hour-long special, will begin Thursday, May 15th and end Sunday, June 15th. If the campaign is successful, production will begin in August.

"If we are successful, we will definitely continue with our efforts and make this into a series," Pépin announced. "I would invite artists from the world of music and dance who share a passion for food such as Mark Morris, Yo-Yo Ma, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Michael Tilson Thomas. After all, the food tastes better when you cook with a friend."
