High-Tech Utensils Prevent You From Overeating
There are all sorts of gadgets, tips, and tricks out there to help folks lose weight, but we've never heard of something quite like this. The Mandometer is a scale for your food that can help you lose weight by preventing you from overeating. First the device will ask you to weigh your dinner, and the scale will calculate how much you should eat, and how quickly. Utensils are attached to the device, allowing the technology to tell users if they are eating too quickly or too much.
"It's about feeling full and by eating slower, you will feel full sooner," nutritionist Deborah Cardile told CBS.
Oddly enough, the same technology has been used to treat eating disorders, by ensuring that patients are eating enough food.
Similar apps and devices include HapiFork and the Bite Counter, which help to count bites, and train people to eat slower so that they can better assess when they become full. The technologies could change the future of how much we eat and overeat.
