Giada De Laurentiis Stars In New TV Show

Food Network star Giada De Laurentiis will premiere a new show this summer called Giada in Italy, according to TV news website Broadway World.

De Laurentiis will tour her homeland to share family recipes and traditions, all while exploring her Italian ancestry. The chef was born in Rome and will showcase the beautiful sites of her birth city and country.

Bob Tuschman, the general manager and senior vice president of Food Network, told Broadway World that this is great venture for De Laurentiis. "We are excited for viewers to see Italy through Giada's eyes," Tuschman said. "With her family's deep roots in the region, there is no one better than Giada to explore the traditions, secrets, and delights of Italian food and culture."

The first episode will take place in Sorrento, where De Laurentiis will prepare grilled trevisio with citrus bagna càuda, pan-seared branzino with tomato and capers, and fresh citrus with gelato and almond cookies.

Giada in Italy premieres July 19 at 11 a.m. ET/PT.
