Starbucks To Discontinue Valencia Orange Refresher, Release New Flavor
A spokesperson from Starbucks confirmed with us that the Valencia Orange Refresher is being discontinued at Starbucks in early July and will be replaced by a new drink: the Strawberry Açaí Refresher.
This new beverage will be a blend of strawberry, passionfruit, and açaí with pieces of real strawberries and green coffee extract. The Strawberry Açaí Refreshers will be released on July 7. "We're constantly evolving and innovating our beverage offerings to ensure we're meeting the needs of our customers," the spokesperson said.
But many customers are upset over the decision to remove Valencia Orange from the menu and have even gone so far as to start an online petition to keep the drink from being discontinued.
The Valencia Orange Refresher first appeared in Starbucks stores in April 2013 and will still be available as VIA Instant Refreshers online and in Starbucks and grocery stores. The drink has orange peel, cardamom, jasmine, and apricot, and is served with an orange slice. "We appreciate the feedback we're seeing from our loyal customers and their comments are very important to us. We hope they'll love this new flavor as much as we do," explained Starbucks' spokesperson.
