Daniel Boulud Launches Exclusive Smoked Salmon Line
Soon you'll be able to buy a little taste of Daniel Boulud's cuisine at your local Whole Foods. The chef that brought you Daniel and Boulud Sud has collaborated with Whole Foods to launch a line of unique smoked salmon varieties available in three flavors: Highland, Baja, and Riviera, which combine the chef's favorite spices and spirits.
"Smoked salmon is a staple for me when entertaining at home— by itself it is delicate and elegant, and adds rich flavor to hors d'oeuvres, salads and sandwiches," said chef Boulud in a statement. "My goal was to source and smoke a superb salmon, then layer in interesting flavors to give an added element of depth and versatility to the fish."
The Highland flavor, made with ground cardamom and a hint whisky, was influenced by the British Isles; the Baja flavor highlights the aroma of cilantro with a kick of tequila; and the Riviera flavor takes it back to Boulud's roots with fragrances of fennel, basil, pink peppercorn and Ricard. The salmon will be sold at Whole Foods stores in the tri-state area.
