Chicago Chefs To Host Children's Cancer Fundraising Dinner
On Monday, August 11th, Chicago chefs Paul Kahan (Blackbird, The Publican) and Tony Mantuano (Spiaggia) will team up with restaurateur Donnie Madia (One Off Hospitality Group) to host Lemon: Chicago at the Art Institute of Chicago to benefit the children's cancer charity Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.
Twenty of the country's most renowned chefs will join the Chicago team to prepare a special four-course meal for all those in attendance.
Participating chefs will include Jose Garces, Aarón Sánchez, Susan Feniger, Michelle Bernstein, John Besh, Vinny Dotolo and Jon Shook. Each of the 20 chefs will be randomly assigned to a table, and will do the final preparations tableside so that guests will have the opportunity to meet the chefs.
An exclusive cocktail hour will also be held before the dinner, and will be hosted by some of Chicago's best chefs, including Brian Huston and Jason Hammel, among others.
"The chef community is often asked to travel the country for culinary events and there are few that are quite as rewarding as Alex's Lemonade Stand," said chef Mantuano. "I'm honored to be working with Paul and Donnie to bring this cause to Chicago and showcase the culinary talents of our city and our chef friends from around the U.S. and Canada."
Tickets for Lemon: Chicago are available now. Sponsorship levels begin at $10,000 for a table of 10 guests, while individual tickets, of which there are only 20, are available for $750.
In 2013, Lemon: NYC, hosted by chef Jonathan Waxman, raised more than $300,000.
