Burger King Releases "Proud Whopper" For LGBT Pride Month
So that's what "Be Your Way" means! In recognition of Pride Week in San Francisco and Pride Month across the nation, Burger King is releasing a limited-edition "Proud Whopper" (a regular Whopper wrapped in a rainbow packaging), along with its new LGBT-friendly "Be Your Way" ad campaign video at the 1200 Market Street Burger King location, available until July 3rd.
"We are always looking to engage our guests on a local level and be part of regionally relevant events," said Kelly Gomez, Director of West Coast Field Marketing, Burger King West Division in a statement. "Given that a Burger King franchise was perfectly situated along the San Francisco Pride Parade route, it was a natural fit to be involved and celebrate by giving something back to the community."
The whopper packaging, when rolled out, reads "We are all the same inside," and will be available through tomorrow. Burger King isn't the only large food company to participate. Baked by Melissa also rolled out a Wildberry Pride cupcake for Pride Month, and Lucky Charms released a "Lucky to be Original" ad campaign, complete with rainbow marshmallows.
