'American Grilled' With David Guas Debuts On Travel Channel
Pitmasters from around the country will compete this summer on American Grilled, the new series from the Travel Channel, for the chance to win a $10,000 cash prize and bragging rights as the ultimate outdoor grilling master.
Chef and restaurateur David Guas (Bayou Bakery) will host the show and act as a co-judge along with a guest.
American Grilled will visit Chicago, Asheville, Louisville, Austin, New Orleans, Memphis, St. Louis, and other legendary grilling cities around the country. Each competing grill master will showcase regional flavors and ingredients: blue crab in Annapolis, Maryland; scuppernongs (a grape variety) in Asheville; and rainbow chard and pork belly in Memphis.
Recently, chef Guas stopped by The Daily Meal's test kitchen to share some of his favorite behind-the-scenes moments from the show.
American Grilled will debut tonight, July 2, at 9 p.m. on the Travel Channel.
